2 large eggs
½ c (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
¼ tsp. kosher salt
1 gal. Vanilla ice cream, softened
Preheat your oven to 3500 and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the cake mix, eggs, butter, vanilla and salt in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients until evenly combined. This mixture will be very thick.
Spread the batter on the baking shieet you prepared earlier and bake the mixture for 18 to 20 minutes.
Let the pan cool completely and cut the sheet cake in half crosswise to make two large rectangles.
Spread the vanilla ice cream on top of one rectangle and place the other half of the baked batter on it. This will form one large ice cream sandwich.
Pop the tray in the refrigerator and let it freeze firm for about two hours. Slice the whole sandwich into squares and serve immediately.
