Remove the Scorch Marks

A scorch mark or even a residual remainder on the iron can leave black stains on the cloth. You can get rid of the scorch marks with vinegar. Get a piece of cloth and start dabbing the scorch mark with vinegar. Once you are done, you can clean it with cold water.

The Correct Technique of Ironing

The ideal way of ironing is in long straight strokes. Try not to wriggle the iron too much on the cloth because it might stretch the fabric. Wriggling the iron on the cloth might even cause creases you cannot get rid of.

Ironing Clothes with Decorative Objects

Although most of us know not to iron over the zippers and buttons, you must have too ironed over decorative objects such as sequins, glitter and paillettes. Make sure you iron around these decorative objects. Or you can simply turn the cloth inside out and iron them in a lower temperature.

DIY Ironing Spray to Banish Creases

Banish creases right away with a DIY ironing spray. Mix up equal parts of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray on to the areas with really bad creases. If you think vinegar might stink up the cloth, you can add few drops of rosewater, lavender or a bit of your perfume to the spray.
