Instructions

For making Patties:

Combine beef, egg, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and the garlic in a large bowl.

Season the contents of the bowl with salt and pepper.

Form the content into four oval patties.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Start searing both sides of the patties about 5 minutes per side until a crust forms. Remove the golden brown patties onto a plate.

For making gravy:

Wipe out the same skillet and butter.

Add onions and thyme to the skillet and until the onions becomes translucent.

Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are browned and tender. This will take about 4 minutes.

Sprinkle onions and mushrooms with flour and stir until they are completely coated. Cook another 2 minutes and add Worcestershire sauce, beef stock and tomato paste.

Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper.

Bring the gravy to a simmer and return the patties to the skillet.

Cover and cook for 10-15 more minutes until the patties are done and the sauce is thickened.

Plate the patties and top it with gravy.
