Make your own Christmas tree
Swear off tradition with these Christmas trees. Recycle old magazines with your family on Christmas and make these amazing trees. You will need a strong cardboard tube to stick the newspapers to. It is surprisingly easy to put together once you’ve sourced one. You can even spray paint them in gold or silver.
Make Christmas baubles too!
Twist your newspapers into a cone and glue it into one place. Twist a slightly smaller cone and stick it on top of the previous cone. Repeat this until you have 6 layers or six cones. Snip one inch cuts into each layer with a pair of scissors. Bend them up slightly and spray with hairspray so that they stay in place. You can also spray paint them or decorate them with glitter if you like.
Shoe deodorizer in the summer
Keep those overused working summer shoes smelling fresh as a daisy. Sprinkle some baking power onto some newspaper and scrunch them into balls. Place them in your shoes overnight and they will have soaked up moisture and any odor by morning.
De-grease your oven quicker than ever
Stop wasting cleaning cloths or sponges to de-grease your oven. It can only ruin your cloths. Simply use scrunched up newspaper to rid of oil and fat before washing and rinsing.
Wrap your gifts to recycle old magazines and newspapers
Don’t waste your money on expensive wrapping paper. It is really not worth it. With some contrasting ribbon, a gift wrapped in newspaper looks extremely chic.
Cover your car windscreen to prevent frost
You can save valuable time in the morning by leaving layers of newspapers sprayed with anti-freeze on your car windscreen the evening before.
Make your own envelopes
Recycle old magazines and newspapers by cutting, folding and sticking them to transform them into cute and attractive envelopes.
